Navelbine

Carboplatin

This is a drug which has been used in the treatment of many other kinds of cancers since the 1980s. It is known for its ability to be given nearly on a monthly basis. It is normally used along with other chemotherapy drugs in order to maximize its effectiveness.

Gemcitabine

This is one of the least preferred of the mesothelioma drugs because of the fact that it kills regular cells along with the cancer cells. It works by interfering with the DNA replication in cells so that they will stop producing and die off.

Cisplatin

This is a single agent platinum-based chemotherapy drug which is used to treat those with pleural mesdothelioma. This is one of the less effective of the mesothelioma drugs because it only sees a response rate of less than 15%. This rate has been shown to improve when used along with other kinds of chemotherapy medications.
